Minutes:

 

        RESOLVED that Councillor C Hart be appointed Chair of the Joint Committee.

APPOINTMENT OF VICE CHAIR

Minutes:

        RESOLVED that Councillor S J Carr be appointed Vice Chair of the Joint Committee.

To approve the minutes of the previous meeting held on 18 March 2021.

Minutes:

The minutes of the meeting held on 18 March 2021 were confirmed and signed as a correct record.

CREMATION NUMBERS AND OTHER UPDATES pdf icon PDF 270 KB

To provide the Joint Committee with the latest update on cremation numbers and other aspects of Bramcote Crematorium.

Minutes:

The Joint Committee noted the latest update on cremation numbers and other aspects of Bramcote Crematorium.

 

The Joint Committee were informed of an emergency repair to one of the cremators which required replacement of the gas valves at a cost of £14,650. The monies for this repair was funded through the cremator repairs budget of £75,000.   

 

Additionally, the Joint committee were informed of the new memorial tribute which was to be located in a new area of the grounds entitled the ‘Forget You Not Garden’. The cost of the memorial is £7150 which has been funded through the trading of the mercury abated cremations which generated £7897.

To consider items for inclusion in the Work Programme for future meetings.

Minutes:

The Joint Committee considered the Work Programme and Schedule of Meetings. It was noted that Bramcote Crematorium had raised £10,000 through it’s recycling scheme for Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide. It was requested that a report be produced on further charitable schemes that Bramcote Crematorium could contribute to.

 

RESOLVED the work programme and schedule of meetings, subject to the below additional reports being added to the work programme, be approved.
