Additional Information

Trish Roberts-Thomson was elected for the ward of Attenborough and Chilwell East on 2 May 2019. She has been actively involved in Chilwell for many years.

After ten years commuting, Trish is now the Chair of the Friends of Beeston Station (FOBS). FOBS is a group of dedicated volunteers developing the ‘look and feel’ of the Station and working towards improving disabled access through better signage and safety measures. Ultimately FOBS would like to ensure that the Station is strategically placed for the new rail developments across the region, as well as advocating the installation of lifts so making it accessible to all those who struggle to climb the stairs.

Trish has been Chair of the Management Committee of the Chilwell Memorial Institute for nine years. The Institute is in the process of upgrading its facilities and redeveloping the grass tennis courts to make one court playable all year round with the introduction of an all-weather surface. Grants for this work have been received from Sport England and Nottinghamshire County Council.

Trish is semi-retired. She works on a consultancy basis in areas of social policy. Before that she was the Community Cohesion Officer at Leicester City Council where she was involved in the integration of ethnic minority communities in the city. Before that she spent ten years at Nottingham Trent University where she was a lecturer in International Relations and European studies. Trish has a Phd in Politics.

Trish has lived in Chilwell for 28 years.
