NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING INSPECTOR UPDATE

Chief Inspector Simon Riley will provide an update for the Committee.

Minutes:

Inspector Simon Riley gave an update on local policing issues and members considered the updated Policy in respect of ASB case reviews which was requested under the provisions of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

KNIFE CRIME UPDATE

Superintendent Matt McFarlane, Knife Crime Strategy Manager for Nottinghamshire Police, will provide an update for the Committee.

The Committee received a presentation from Superintendent Matt McFarlane in relation to knife crime in the Nottinghamshire area.

To advise the Committee of the progress made on the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Action Plan.

The Committee noted the progress made on the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Action Plan. The Committee expressed concern over the use of fireworks to cause ASB. It was noted that the Action Plan was to be renewed in March 2020.

The Committee noted the aspects of online harassment and cyberbullying. The Committee noted that the Councillor’s Code of Conduct does not specifically give mention to online harassment and cyber bullying perpetrated by councillors to fellow councillors.  

 

RESOLVED that formal wording, supplied by the legal department, be added to the code of conduct in relation to online harassment and cyber bullying by fellow members.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT - REVIEW OF BUSINESS PLAN PROGRESS - COMMUNITY SAFETY pdf icon PDF 346 KB

To report progress against outcome targets identified in the Community Safety and Health Business Plan, linked to Corporate Plan priorities and objectives, and to provide an update as to the latest key performance indicators therein.

 

 

Minutes:

Members noted the progress made in achieving the Business Plan for Community Safety and Health in addition to the current key performance indicators for 2019/20.

To consider items for inclusion in the Work Programme for future meetings.

Minutes:

Members considered the Work Programme and stated that items on the location of knife bins in the Borough and the toilet provisions in the Borough be added to the Programme.

 

RESOLVED that the Work Programme, as amended, be approved.
